I first met Hannah & Jason at their engagement party/engagement session where they hosted a small cocktail party with their closest friends at a rad warehouse in Oakland. It had just the vibe they were going for and while it was a super fun shoot, we still wanted some outdoor photos as well. It was a downpour the night of their party, so we reschedule part II for a later date... [con't]

I absolutely love what I do, but sometimes you fall into a creative rut or a safe zone of shooting. That's when it's important to switch things up a bit and shoot something totally different. I met Hannah & Jason who had just the thing. They met while bartending in Oakland, and wanted their photos to really represent who they are. They decided to throw a small get together with some of their closest friends at this incredible loft in Oakland and turn that into their engagement session... [con't]
Living just an hour outside of San Francisco provides the opportunity to visit the city fairly often, however I wish I went more often. Luckily, I have awesome clients who don't mind adventuring in the city with me. Lyndsay & Matt wanted to start their engagement shoot at the incredible Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. It was a chilly winter morning outside, but inside the conservatory felt like a (very welcomed) humid paradise. I could honestly hangout in there all day and be happy... [con't]
From the moment I met Amanda and Andrew, their energy was electric. Their love for each other was palpable, and they were so playful with each other. It made for some fun shots. I'm pretty sure I didn't even say very much during their shoot, as they were engrossed in their little world, teasing each other and basically just being the cutest people ever. This is what true love looks like you guys... [con't]
There are many reasons I love my job. Some of which include taking me to beautiful locations, and being able to reconnect with people I haven't seen in forever. AJ and I have known each other since we were young, and our families are still in touch. I was thrilled when he and his darling finace reached out to me for some engagement photos. Bailey is a kind and fun soul, I loved getting to know her and AJ together as a couple. They were troopers for adventuring with me over some prickly rocks, but it was definitely worth it... [con't]
Growing up with Emily was nothing short of fun. She is just the sweetest and I never laugh so hard than when I'm with her. You can imagine my excitement when she found her forever boyfriend :) We decided to take some 'pre-engagement' shots down at Newport Beach and Balboa Island. The rain teased us a bit with some on and off sprinkling, but these guys held out great... [con't]
I love my job for so many reasons. But getting to reconnect with old friends is always a plus. Britt & I met our freshman year of college in the dorms. We lost touch for a few years as life took us in different directions, but I was SO happy when she reached out to me after she was engaged! Britt is from beautiful Palos Verdes so we took to the cliffs, quite literally. She and Trent were troopers for waking up for a sunrise session, however the fog never quite burned off. But I love these foggy photos probably even more... [con't]
I love love love getting to know my bride & groom's better before their big day. Especially when one of the meet ups include engagement photos! It's like a test run to see how awkward I can be to make them laugh and feel at ease. Megan & James are the sweetest people ever and I had such a great time getting to know them and hanging out. They even pretended I was funny ;) Lookout for their wedding post coming soon!
Back in September I was able to visit friends and family in Utah. It was a fun filled weekend and I got to see my favorite newlyweds, Taylor, who is my brother, and Liz. They have the coolest cat and live in a stylish apartment - didn't expect anything less with my new sister in law being an interior designer with fabulous taste! I love that these guys are always up for some photos, it's too bad they don't live closer. I look forward to seeing them this Christmas!
