Round TWO of Yosemite engagement sessions was just as much of an adventure as round one! Melissa & Luis are a rad photography/videography duo and I was stoked to hear they wanted me to do their shoot. I was going to shoot their wedding as well, until baby girl decided to have her due date roughly around the time of their wedding so unfortunately, I knew I had to pass on their big day. It was a blast getting to know these two and I wish them all the best on their big day and in their business!
Amanda and Brett live just outside Yosemite, so when I told them I'd be there for someone else's engagement session, they were down to book theirs there too. I was so excited to finally shoot a couple in one of the world's most beautiful places. Even better, they brought their fun loving rescue pup along, which I definitely don't hate :) The park was starting to get busy for the summer but we found plenty of awesome places in the valley and around to shoot. See for yourself below!
Stay tuned for Amanda & Brett's incredible forest wedding that just happened this last weekend.
I first met Hannah & Jason at their engagement party/engagement session where they hosted a small cocktail party with their closest friends at a rad warehouse in Oakland. It had just the vibe they were going for and while it was a super fun shoot, we still wanted some outdoor photos as well. It was a downpour the night of their party, so we reschedule part II for a later date. To revisit their speakeasy themed session, check it out here.
I love when clients have something unique or special to them in mind for a shoot. In this case, it was a freeway overpass. Yup! A little skeptical, but super excited to try something new, I told them I was game. The light that night made a world of a difference. It looked so dreamy, yet contrasted with the harsh lines of the freeway and urban feel, it was awesome. Still one of my favorite shoots to date, simply because of how different it was. They really just let me create and capture them having fun and being goofy. Can't wait for their wedding this fall! Feel free to let me know how you like this set.
A while ago I posted about the ever so sweet Lyndsay & Matt's engagement session in San Francisco's Conservatory of Flowers. Which was AMAZING. My love for greenery and plants intensified and I could have spent all day there. Well, my dreams came true when I saw that their wedding venue would be just as lush and gardenesque as ever, at The Brownstone Gardens in Oakley, California.
Fast forward to their wedding day this past May. It was a lovely tight knit family affair centered around their love for Christ, which I thought was beautiful. Although large bridal parties kind of scare me (logistically they just take longer to shoot = leads to stress) they were some of the most helpful and kind people! I had a genuinely wonderful time with everyone that day and it was too easy to capture Lyndsay & Matt's love for each other.
I had the pleasure of having the talented Kris Turner Photography come shoot with me which is always a fun time. A few of the images below are thanks to him! I had such a hard time narrowing down my blog post choices but take a look for yourself and take in the beauty of the lush greenery and the kindness and love that emanates from these two lovers.
