2017 // Year In Review

This past year has been such an exciting one, personally and professionally. Aside from expecting our first baby, Meredith Lynne Photography has had it's biggest year yet. I feel incredibly grateful for the people I've been able to meet and places I've seen. From an intimate San Francisco elopement to engagement sessions in Yosemite, I love how this job has taken me to some rad places. It's tough to narrow down some highlights but scroll through if you'd like to see some of my favorite moments this year.

If someone were to ask me the most important tool or piece of knowledge to have to improve their photography, I'd strongly suggest LIGHTING. Knowing how to find and use the light available to you is a huge key that I've noticed help my images. Give me a gorgeous scenery with terrible lighting, and I'd still choose a freeway overpass at the right time of day with awesome light. Lately, I'm fond of catching the sun rays coming from behind some trees and having my couple positioned in front of the trees. It produces some gorgeous light! You'll actually see a few examples of that below.

Anyway, I love revisiting this shoot with Alisha & Alex. We frolicked through Golden Gate Park one warm summer evening, basically wherever the light took us. They are such a down to earth, fun loving couple and I can't wait to party with them this spring at their wedding! Enjoy a peek at their engagement session below.

Laguna Beach Wedding Photographer // Erin & Jason

When I think of what an idyllic beach side wedding would look like, I am reminded of Erin & Jason's intimate wedding. It was a sunny yet cool southern California day as they said their vows on the sand surrounded by family and loved ones and some picturesque cliffs. Laguna Beach is home to some of the most beautiful beaches along the California coastline. With such a small guest list, they were able to really focus on each other and their loved ones and just enjoy the day. I still think back and smile on this day and feel lucky they chose me to document their day. More details and images are below, enjoy!

Venues: Casa Laguna, & La Casa Del Camino

Gown: BHLDN

Flowers: The Flower Stand

Cake: Susie Cakes

This super fun family session was combined with an engagement session, and clearly we had a little too much fun (we didn't come out dry!). Elise & Matt had recently gotten engaged (at this very beach) at the time of our shoot, so it was fun to revisit a place that is so special to them. Throw her adorable twins into the mix, and it made for a fun time frolicking in the sand and water. I'm so happy for this sweet new family and wish them all the best!
